It’s another start to another amazing week. Here we go! This week, I want to talk about something called “resistance”.

It’s something that we all experience many times throughout the day. Resistance is what you encounter when you know you should be doing things that are good for you but you choose not to.

I read about “resistance” in the book, “Resisting Happiness” by Matthew Kelly.

Kelly states, “What is resistance? It’s that sluggish feeling of not wanting to do something that you know is good for you, it’s the inclination to do something that you unabashedly know is not good for you, and it’s everything in between.”

Here’s an example…you know you should exercise today, but your brain tells you, “I’m too tired, I’ll do it tomorrow, 30 minutes isn’t worth it, etc.” Why do we create excuses for things we know our good for our mind, body, and soul?

Resistance wants us to be lazy, to not work toward things, and to stay as we are. If we succumb to resistance, we don’t move forward, and we lose our enthusiasm for life.

Today’s Challenge…

Find moments in your day where you find yourself facing “resistance”. Maybe it’s in the morning when your alarm clock goes off. Instead of listening to resistance and sleeping in a little longer, defeat resistance by getting up, and win your first battle of the day.

*You could also journal about moments in the day where you faced “resistance” and overcame it.

Let’s be hard-boiled (aka strong-willed) Eggs today!
